Tim Rooney

Timothy Rooney was the second oldest son of movie legend, Mickey Rooney, who at 89 years old, still performs today! Timmy Rooney died following a five year battle with dermatomyositis on September 24, 2006. His career as a child actor included films and TV shows but only after a miraculous recovery from childhood polio, which had left him paralyzed for two years. He and older brother, Mickey Rooney Jr. were two of Disney's original Mouseketeers in TV's, "The Mickey Mouse Club".

Tim was quite active in Hollywood during the sixties, when Elvis, himself, spent quite a bit of time there filming. Tim appeared in television shows such as "Bewitched", "Dragnet" and "Gidget", and had a co-starring role in the sitcom, "Room For One More". More prominently, Tim did major voice-over work in Hollywood, some of which included the voice of Theodore the "Chipmunk" of the famed Chipmunk cartoons.

Tim was also a singer-songwriter on Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show, " and he and brothers Mickey Jr. and Teddy appeared in the sixties as "The Rooney Bros." Tim and Elvis had alot in common as they became friendly through the film and recording studios where both appeared at times in the same areas and sometimes got together and hung out. More than that, Tim's mom, B.J. Baker, the former Miss Alabama Betty Jane Rase, 2nd wife of Mickey Rooney, became a top background and vocal contractor in Hollywood for numerous records and movies, including doing some background work on Elvis' films and recordings.

Timmy Rooney was a friend of Elvis and often saw him when Elvis was living on Hillcrest Drive.
They shared a love of karate and took some classes together.

Mickey Rooney, the longest performing entertainer in history, as now listed in the Guiness Book of Records, and his lovely wife, Jan, are fans of Elvis.
