the green scrapbook

The story behind the green scrapbook goes like this. Gladys Presley purchased a simple scrapbook for her son whose star was rising perhaps quicker than she had ever realized would happen. The scrapbook was green. Elvis would consider this almost as religiously as he did the Holy Bible. You see, the scrapbook contained news articles and stories all written about Elvis. The thing about this scrapbook were the articles Elvis and Gladys kept-- only those that defamed Elvis with deragotory and unkind comments. It was Elvis' belief that by reading these unkind words and comments, he could best tell what his fans truly wanted and expected of him. He used the green scrapbook to help build a stronger
character.

Today, The Kin of Rock and Roll has put together our own version of the green scrapbook, this time filled with interesting stories and articles about Elvis BUT also a section on the unkind and deragatory incidents that have taken place since Elvis' demise, stories and comments that attempt to tarnish Elvis' memory (but never will). We put together this scrapbook in memory of Elvis and also as a line of defense-- to help defend Elvis' memory against the hordes of harassers/ stalkers/wannabes and other related defamers and scammers who try to instill fear and discord in the otherwise loyal fan-oriented Elvis world. It is a shame that such people exist to seek and destroy not only the credibility of Elvis, but of others loyal to him.

Here, we not only bring out the worst of the bunch, we tell Elvis' family and fans what we have done to stand up against these so-called "leeches."
