Unfortunate Lies That Harm the Grieving and Those Believing... Contesting Sylvia Browne's Claim to Have Contacted the Spirit of
Elvis Presley
|
Following Elvis' untimely death, many psychics have claimed to contact him from the other side. Whether or not they have or have not, remains open to question, but the grievance we at The Kin of Rock and Roll have in this particular instance is when famed psychic ,Sylvia Browne, claimed to have contacted the spirit of Elvis, through her own spirit guide, and yet a majority of the information is incorrect. Why would the spirit of Elvis pass on wrong information at all? This is not the first time that Ms. Browne has been proven wrong in her readings for people, (see Stop Sylvia Brown.com), and we find it purely insulting that such a phenomenal fee is charged by she and other psychics whose information is largely proven either incorrect or is at least way off the mark.

In the case of Sylvia Browne and her supposed communication with the spirit of Elvis, the results of that communication published in her book, "Visits From the Afterlife," pub. 2003 (Dutton), we cannot say that Ms. Browne didn't learn or hear anything substantial about Elvis between 1977 and 2003, and we find a majority of inconsistencies in her reading, for which she claims to have received a phone call both from Vernon Presley and Charlie Hodge acknowledging how correct she was. We would like to have proof of these phone calls. We are certain that both men, especially Vernon, would have known that: Elvis' pet name for his mother, Gladys, was not "Gladiola" as Browne claims Elvis had told her, but was, indeed, Sattnin; that Elvis' spirit claim to Vernon that his "concerns about his chest area were not as serious as he might think," falsely proven since Vernon, not even two years later, died from a heart attack and had suffered from effects of an ill heart previously; that twin brother, Jesse, and a friend named "Chuck" were waiting for Elvis along with his mother Gladys. Who is "Chuck?" Can anyone fill us in on who this is? If they can, we will gladly give credit where credit is due! Browne also claims that the spirit of Elvis' said that he and Priscilla wanted many children. From what many of we family members have been told, some by Elvis, himself, was that he {Elvis} wanted a large family but that his wife did not. There is one more claim from "Elvis' spirit" wherein he said that Vernon would understand and that was the name given of "Ruta May." Who is Ruta May? Did Elvi's spirit mean to say "Minnie Mae," who Vernon would have, indeed, known for it was his mother and Elvis' grandmother. Again, if anyone knows who Ruta May is, please let us know and we will give credit where credit is due. Finally, Ms. Browne claimed that Elvis would reincarnate in 2004, this time coming back as a singer with light hair and light eyes. I guess Ms. Browne did not know that Elvis was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed singer this last time around. The clincher: the spirit of Elvis reported that he had had a problem with his lower-intestine for the last 2-1/2 years prior to his death which he told to two friends,"John and Charlie," (John? Could she have meant Joe?) In fact, Elvis had a deformed colon which he had had since infancy. The spirit of Elvis claimed that he died instantly in a "very small room," and that he went into a small room with a book. Ms. Browne claims to have contacted Elvis' within the first 24 hours of his passing. It was already known hours before that that Elvis was "found" in the bathroom and that a book was found nearby. The spirit of Elvis claimed to have been taking medication, including steroids, and said that his death was "unintentional and accidental." Vernon never believed for one minute that his son's death was an accident.

does not tolerate psychics making excessive capital from the deceased or their grieving loved ones. We urge those of you contemplating readings, to insure first that you are not charged a small fortune to be told misled and then not have your money refunded to you after being laden with untruths. Please check out any and all sources before you delve into the unknown.

As for Sylvia Browne, we do expect that she apologize to the family and fans of Elvis Presley and retract the printing of erroneous information that could not have come from the spirit of Elvis Presley, simply because the information is incorrect!
