A Message from Chris...
"Hi to all Elvis fans!

Please help me continue to help our homeless veterans by supporting Vetsville Cease Fire House, the home I built for Vietnam Veterans. For those of you who do not remember, I played 'Betsy' in 'Girl Happy.' If you can, please donate whatever you can to our cause.

Thank you and Bless you."

Award of the Presidential Medal of Freedom

You may remember that Chris Noel co-starred with Elvis in the movie, "Girl Happy." Chris played Betsy. Chris made several movies in Hollywood before deciding to begin a new career which took her over to Vietnam, during the Vietnam Conflict, where she spent her youth and her days entertaining our brave young men. Chris became a very special part of the Vietnam era, and the men who served while she was there have never forgotten her service and her loyalty to them.

Nineteen years ago Chris opened a shelter for homeless and despairing Vietnam Veterans. A place they have since called "home." Chris set up and arranged the six-bedroom facility as a continued process of her lifelong committment to veterans.

The name of the home Chris built for the veterans is:
Vetsville Cease Fire House
http://www.vetsville.org/

The home is running into financial difficulty and Chris is trying to hang on to it as best as she can. She has spent most of her own earnings on running the facility but is now currently awaiting on grants from the Veterans Administration to help her keep the facility open.

For the veterans returning home from Irag and Afghanistan, you may not know who Chris Noel is, but you should, and you should know that this dear lady played a major role in the hearts and minds of many GI's from the Vietnam war and still to this day she is the most highly respected supporter of our nation's veterans. Chris spent more time in Vietnam entertaining the troops and supporting them, visiting them in hospitals, that she has been proclaimed by veterans as one of them, an honorary Vietnam veteran. Today, Chris has many ills that may stem from her days in Vietnam. She had spent perhaps more time there than many troops during their tours.

We would love to have Chris come to the troop room and DJ one night for all of our troops and, hopefully, she will come join us as soon as she is feeling better.

In the meantime, for all of you veterans who remember Chris and just how much she supported you all, please drop her a line in our troop room, or dedicate a song to her, I am sure it will go a long way to cheering her up. We will forward your messages to her.

Let's Hear it for Chris Noel!! God Bless you, Chris!
