Remembering Elvis is to remember a landmark in American history. Remember that the history and heritage of our ancestors and of our nation are worthy of preserving.

Speak not softly and let the history die. We must hold onto forever, that which our forefathers gave to us. For we must now give to the future generations to come. Help us continue the fight for truth in history in the classrooms.

Vernon never recovered from losing son, Elvis

Dear Elvis:

Once upon a time there was a different world. A place where innocence as well as curiosity
was still young. Life was a simpler time, and God was the key ingredient to daily life.

You came along and the world began to change with you. But it was a good place to live, still
full of innocence and God. You gave new meaning to the world of music and your style was so
unique and unheard of that it became your style alone, alone it became your creation. Others
went before you and have come after you, but you alone set the standard. There will never be
another Elvis Presley.

Your life was filled with much heartbreak, more than many may know. That quivering lip and
broad smile never let be known the tears you cried inside. Being King can be a lonely reign and
for as much as you loved to sing, you yearned for the simple life once again. Four special ladies
filled your world along with your quest for God, Jesus, and...peace. The song, "Softly As I Leave
You, " though you never recorded it as a song, became one of your favorites. This song held a
special significance for you.

For all the years that you gave the world the gift of your song, and for all the years your songs
and your style have continued to reign in your absence, you never will be forgotten and
generations to come will continue to become endeared to you.

You came from good stock. This website is dedicated to you and our Presley ancestors, and
it is especially for your fans so that they might come to know those who came before you: the
Presley ancestors who brought you forward. We owe them a great deal, because before you and
many of us came along, our ancestors were a courageous, God-fearing, heartfull bunch of kinfolk.
You often wondered about them; who they were and what made them tick. Now, thanks to members
of your extended family the Presley family heritage has become well-known. You would be proud.

Thank you to our ancestors for forming our paths in life. They helped create the Elvis Presley we knew
and loved. Thank you for giving yourself to us. A true gift from God. Your endless help to all causes and
concerns, known and unknown. Your devotion to God and family. Your spiritual soul. The recordings.
They carry on in your place. You are missed the world over. On this the 30th Anniversary of your leaving
us, everyone once more bands together to remember Elvis Presley, the force.

One more thing: the lonliness of your last year must have been very difficult for you to bear. You carried
a secret inside you that maybe one or two others may have known, and so as not to appear "ill" to your
family and devoted fans, you pressed on in a manner that eventually caused you more suffering. You knew
that your time here was limited. You took the time to say your good-byes in very special ways, to very special
people. You kept your secret; you suffered alone so as not to burden anyone else with your pain. To the end,
you put everyone else first. Shamefully, there were those in your life who didn't understand how special you
were, perhaps until it was too late. Your heart is ever present. We vow, here and now, to seek the answers to
the yet unanswered questions.

May God Bless you always with the white light of peace for eternity. We love you!
