Tearsie Edward Hargett was killed in the D-day battling
at Normandy Beach in France. His only surviving son,
Mackey Edward Hargett, had never met his father. The
family is from Mississippi.

Sadly, Tearsie's
remains were never recovered and he is listed on DPMO's
list of MIA/bodies not recovered from WWII.

Lee Hargett (known as Lee or Shorty)
(Jan 15, 1898-Jun 15, 1976) was the son of William Daniel
Hargett
(May 6, 1873-Mar 6, 1939) and Emily Presley (Apr 1882-Dec
22,
1957). William Daniel Hargett was the son of Daniel Hargett
(b.
May 1, 1833) and Emily Penley.
Willie Lee Hargett married Emily Love (Jan 16, 1908-Feb
24,
1958). He was described as a very kind and friendly man.
They
are all buried at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Union
County, North Carolina.
